Introduction

We provide legal advice on UK and EU law to businesses in the UK and abroad.  We help business to:

We have many years experience of the legal market place with contacts among major firms of solicitors and sets of barristers chambers throughout the UK.  Our experience enables us to identify parties best able to assist our clients.  Because we are known to these professionals and have dealt with them over many years, we are able to secure the best legal advice and court representation for our clients.

We have provided mediation to Government departments, political parties, local authorities, commerce and industry both as trainers and as mediators.

  • Company Commercial Law
    We carry out a wide range of company commercial work.

  • Construction and Technology Law
    Advising on the form of contract and procurement process need not be a headache. Problems related to delay and expense need not escalate into disputes.  We provide advice and assistance on all aspects of construction engineering and technology law.

  • Case assessments
    For a fixed fee we will provide you with an assessment of the likely path your case may take be it at Litigation Arbitration Adjudication or Mediation, and the costs associated with that case and provide a recommendation as to what other options may be in your best interests.

  • In-house dispute resolution services
    We will work within your organisation to both enhance and supplement your dispute resolution capability as the need arises. 

    We have worked in-house as interim solicitors and dispute resolution advisers for an major international construction materials company supervising its external lawyers and experts and assisting in the preparation of its major claims,

    We have worked as in–house lawyers with a bank dealing with issues of banking security, insolvency and banker customer rights. 

    We have worked in-house with a firm of surveyors assisting in the administration of their project contracts, 

    We have worked within law firms advising in relation to dispute resolution issues.

    We have worked with a City based insurance dispute resolution service provider and in Atlanta USA with a ADR service provider.
  • Effective case management
    Whether it is adjudication, arbitration, litigation, mediation or expert determination, we can assist you in selecting the process best suited for your case and then running and resolving your dispute with you or for you. 
  • Mediation
    We are experienced mediation advocates and regularly prepare cases for mediation.

    We accept appointments to act as Mediator in the London and Birmingham Civil Justice Centres.

    We will accept appointments privately for parties that have a genuine interest in reaching a settlement.

    We are on the Court of Appeal Panel for mediation for matters arising out of banking and banking security and general commercial and chancery law.
  • Negotiation and settlement law services
    We will assist you in devising a negotiating strategy by suggesting various options appropriate to achieve your objective and then setting the case up for trial or settlement taking account of the pressure building and relieving opportunities provided by the Civil Procedure Rules. 
  • Conflict management
    It is essential to your reputation how commercial disputes are dealt with. We will help you devise a policy that both promotes your business and effectively resolves your dispute. We have direct experience of financial services and local authorities and have advised parties on matters proceeding before the Financial Ombudsman Service and most tribunals and courts in England & Wales.
  • Time limited mediation
    We will assist parties prepare for and then explore with them at a structured negotiation meeting the possibilities of commercial settlements. Confidentiality, preparation and flexibility make this time efficient process a success story for over 85% of cases we mediate.
  • Co-mediation
    We have trained with some of the leading mediators in the UK and the USA. We are familiar with multi disciplined experts. We can assist you in selecting a team to represent your case at mediation.

    We have acted as lead mediators in multiparty disputes where we were assisted by a co-mediator.
  • Pre-emptive remedies
    We have many years experience of obtaining and discharging what have been described as draconian orders including, search and seizure orders, freezing orders and the appointment by the Court of Receivers to manage and run businesses. We have experience of dawn raids by government departments under the competition law regulations.
  • Fees
    We provide estimates of the likely cost to be incurred.
    In some cases we will act on a “no win no fee basis” and can advise you on litigation funding and insuring against adverse cost awards.

We operate between London, Birmingham and Cambridge with an administrative office situated in Northamptonshire at Catherine House, Harborough Road, Brixworth, Northamptonshire.
